Join us in the Roberts Library, Room 235 on Wednesday, June 11 from
noon-1pm for the first of the Summer Reading Program events. Feel free
to bring your lunch with you.
This event will tie in with some of the titles suggested for the reading
program, including A Child Called It, Gifted Hands, and Dorie, the Girl
Nobody Loved. We will be showing the PBS documentary The Road Beyond
Abuse. This film focuses on two adults now
living in Georgia, Johnnetta McSwain and Michael McClain.
Physically and emotionally battered for years, they refused to give up
and went on to achieve great things in their lives. The Road Beyond
Abuse looks at how and why this was possible.
At the end of the program, we will have the first prize drawings for our
Summer Reading Program. You do not have to be present to win.
All students, staff and faculty are eligible to participate in the reading program.
From June 1 - July 25, for each book you check out, we will stamp your passport and enter your name for a prize drawing.
