"A Walk in the Woods: Hiking in the Appalachians"

On Wednesday June 25^th David Brown, librarian at Dalton State College and former park ranger in the Great Smoky Mountains, will present "A Walk in Woods: Hiking in the Appalachians." The presentation will be in room 235 of the library and will last about one hour. The presentation will focus on Bill Bryson's book A Walk in Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail but will also include information about hiking trails in North Georgia and the Great Smoky Mountains. Brown  will also talk about search and rescues, snake bites, and bear attacks on the Appalachian trail as well as other fascinating stories from his experience as a park ranger.

David Brown is currently Instructional Technology Librarian at Dalton State College. He previously worked at Georgia Northwestern Technical College and the University of Tennessee. Before working in higher education, Brown worked as a park ranger in the Great Smoky Mountains, Grand Canyon and Mount St. Helens.
