The Bandy Heritage Center is hosting a motorcoach tour of Civil War battlefields
involved in General Joseph Johnston’s ill-fated Atlanta Campaign.
The
daylong tour is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, beginning at Poplar
Springs Church in Crow Valley and tracing engagements around Dalton,
through Resaca, to the battles of Pickett’s Mill,
New Hope Church, and Kennesaw Mountain.
Historian and author Richard
McMurry will conduct the tour of the campaign that sealed the fate of
the Confederacy. The tour runs 8 am to 6:30 pm; cost is $50. For more
