Among the events planned at Dalton State are a free screening of the
2001 French romantic comedy “Amelie” on Thursday, November 17 at 7 p.m.
at the College’s Goodroe Auditorium of Gignilliat Memorial Hall. The
film, which has English subtitles, was nominated for five academy
awards and was named “Best Film” at the European Film Awards.
“Amelie”
is set in Montmartre and tells the story of a young French girl,
Amelie, played by Audrey Tautou, who sets out to perform random acts of
kindness for people in her village and is rewarded with love and
adventure. The film is directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
