Summer Science Camps for Kids

Creek Critters, Stream Stomp Returning to Dalton State

Dr. John Lugthart
The Dalton State Foundation is reviving two of the College’s most popular summer science camps for kids. “Creek Critters” and “Stream Stomp,” which both introduce children to the wonders of stream ecosystems, will be offered in June for children ages five through 11.

As they were in the past, both programs will be led by Dalton State biology instructors Dr. John and Gretchen Lugthart.

Creek Critters is designed for children ages five to six and will meet from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on two consecutive Monday afternoons, June 6 and June 13. Cost of the class is $75; a discount is offered for children of Dalton State alumni.

Stream Stomp, for kids seven to eleven, will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon on two consecutive Fridays, June 10 and June 17. Cost of Stream Stomp is $90 with a discount offered for children of alumni.
All participants are advised to wear old clothes and shoes that can get wet.

Space is limited in both classes; registration before May 25 and advance payment are required. To register or to learn more, contact the Dalton State Foundation at 706-272-4473 before May 25.
